Rebecca "Becky," Haney Thomas departed this beautiful life May 26, 2015, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Virginia and Cecil Haney.

She was born in Greene County and grew up in Albemarle County. She attended Albemarle High School, Mary Washington College and Virginia Commonwealth University. She worked for United Virginia Bank, Crestar Bank and SunTrust Bank. She retired in May 2014 as a vice-president in the trust department.

She is survived by her husband, James Larry Thomas; brother and sister-in law, Tim and Bonnie Haney; nephews, Timothy, Titus and Tyler Haney. She leaves behind her faithful companion, Peppy; and cats, Lucky, Jake, Charlie and PK.

Becky was thoughtful and caring of people and animals. She was devoted to her family and friends. lf you were her friend, you were her friend for life.
